I am the luckiest

Posted in Life | No Comments »

Do you know that song – “Luckiest” – it’s perhaps, one of my favorites and totally says how I feel about my mothers day.  Even though I was thrown up on twice, dealt with a fussy-bucket of a daughter, and didn’t get a waffle – the day was excellent.  I am so grateful for matthew and zoe and the rest of my family.  I got to speak to my mom on skype and have dinner with Helen, Gene, Jon and Chieu.  To wrap up the evening I spent time watching the videos of zoe that I had from Zoes birth on – it truly made my day.

Well now I have positive vibes to help me through this week!

Oh and I’m not sure why fb takes 2-3 days to grab my posts but feel free to use an RSS to follow my blog.

Three months

Posted in Life | No Comments »

It has been 3 months since I had Zoe. Wow, 3 months. 3 months since I last worked, since Matthew and I were just a couple, and at least three months since I could sleep to my hearts content.

It’s been a crazy three months, that’s for sure. First was my attempts at having a natural birth – that didn’t happen – so surgery was it. Then it was welcoming this tiny baby into the world and trying to figure out how to breastfeed.  Talk about pain!! Then simultaneously I dealt with a sick child (jaundice) and my own sickness (post partum depression).  PPD was probably the scariest thing ever – how does a person, who loves all children, feel so ambilvalent towards her own child? It was most certainly scary.  Thankfully I had some great family and friends who helped me through those first few weeks…and months.

And now that I feel comfortable with myself as a mom I am going back to work.  Now I have to figure out how to be a worker and a mom – I think I can do it.  We’ve been fortunate to find a great babysitter for Zoe – I’m so excited for Zoe to grow up with Leyna (our babysitters daughter) in her life…a pseudo big sister :)  But with work stuff I’ll have to relearn some things – mainly how to be speedy at my work, but I’ll also have the opportunity to change things too.

All in all I’m pretty excited to go back to work, yet sad to not have those special moments with Zoe.  However, I am so happy she is in my life – I’m one very blessed mother :)

Who wouldn’t love this face??

2010 goals

Posted in Life | No Comments »

Yes, I realize it is May but I have finally decided on my goals for this year.  I think in January the only goal I could see was to have a healthy baby.  Since that’s been achieved I can think of other things!

So my goals for this year:
1) exercise regularly – my plan is to workout in the am after my 6ish zoe feeding, on the eliptical in the basement.  As motivation I’ll get a tv series from netflix and only watch it when I exercise.  I plan to start with numbers but will take suggestions for others.
2) drop 20 lbs of my pre-pregnancy weight – which would mean reaching the weight of 180 lbs. I think it’s a realistic goal.
3) do a walk (i guess a 1k but maybe a 5k – I don’t know the difference) and do it with my family (sorry matthew!)

I think that’s plenty for now – I want to put in things like ’scrapbook/knit/crochet more’ but really that’s easy for me to do – the challenge is to get myself into a habit of exercising.

I would like to blog more – that’s gonna be a mini goal :)
Night all!

Anna on swine flu

Posted in Life | No Comments »

This is Anna with swine flu

Just a test

Trying out something on my palm pre….

Wow, I suck at updating this!

Posted in Life | No Comments »

And why am I updating it at 6:30 am?!?

Well because swine flu has kicked my ass – ugh.  All the precautions; hand sanitizer like a whoa, not touching my face, the h1n1 shot 1 week ago… and I still got it.  Thankfully the doc’s think it’s somewhat weakened because I don’t have a fever, aches, or the chills.  I came down with a cough on Tuesday, saw my family doc on Wednesday who said I had bronchitis (probably true), had a HORRIBLE night of not breathing and finally saw my Allergist on Thursday.  She didn’t think it was h1n1 but took the extra precaution to have me get swabbed for Influenza A while we were doing my breathing treatments.  That swab came back positive for Influenza A and 99% of positives are also positive for h1n1, so instead of doing a test that would take weeks to know, I took one that I  knew in an hour.  So the thing they want to get under control is the breathing, because if I can’t breathe, baby can’t breathe.  I’m on Tamiflu, an antibiotic, and a nebulizer to get the breathing meds to my lungs.  They also gave me a shot of a steroid.  It seems to be working – my cough is still here, but not as tight and it has definitely loosened up my chest.  But as we can see, I’m not sleeping at 6AM :-(   I do have to say, I slept fairly well till about 5 am and then I got up a few times due to coughing and now I decided to play on the computer until my cough drop is gone.  Luckily I’m on the couch so I’m not bothering Matthew.

Can I say how lucky I am to have Matthew?  He was a sweetheart and came home yesterday to take care of me – I was a mess, crying and freaking out – all before I knew I had h1n1.  He took me to the doc, drove me around to get my swabbing, picked up my meds and is in general, making me feel better :)   Yep I’m one lucky lady to have him :-)

And still kicking me, literally as I type, is Zoe Marie :-)   That’s right we’re having a girl and we chose the name Zoe Marie :-D   I’m definitely worried about this flu stuff with her but I have a great doc, and an even better Mother-in-Law who are watching out for her.  This past week to two weeks I can really feel her kicking away.  It’s kinda funny – like I’ll be driving to work and she’ll start kicking my upper belly in the same spot at random intervals. Kick, pause, pause, kick, kick, pause, pause, pause, kick, pause, kick, pause. For about 20 kicks she did this!  It made me chuckle, and the kicks were hard enough that I could feel them outside my belly :-)   Oh and yesterday I’m pretty sure she head-butted, or butt-butted me, lol, I had my hand on my belly and felt a HUGE bump that couldn’t have been a hand or a foot!  I think with all of her movement it’s really made me excited to do the 3D/4D ultrasound with my family in Florida :-) We’ll be able to see her again!

Alright, time to go do another breathing treatment so this coughing will stop and I can get some more sleep for a few hours.  Promise, I’ll try and update more often!

Thought I’d update with something fun!

Pictures of some of the baby gifts I’ve received so far!  They are tooo cute!

If you click on the pics they’ll tell you information about whom the gift is from and what the item is, if you’re unsure!

Oh and in case you hadn’t noticed I moved my blog to starbarmonkey – our family website. So the new address is librariananna.starbarmonkey.com – same as before just change the middle word :-)

Life is good otherwise, got 3 shots today (Flu, Allergy, Allergy) and get to have an MRI next week! Joy Joy! Everything with the baby is fine, it’s just the stupid ankle – they want to make sure nothing else is wrong and then they’ll decide if we need to do more serious stuff like cortisone shots or what have you.  For now we’ve stopped PT appointments but I still have to do the exercises at home.  That’ll be fun…

That’s all folks!

Oh my goodness! It's been so long!!!

I have been terrible about updating my blog, for a few reasons that I’ll explain later.

For those of you that don’t know – I’m pregnant!! I’m week 16 and feeling pretty good :-)

Part of the reason I haven’t felt compelled to update was that we had been trying for quite a while and I had been hopeful it would be more immediate, unfortunately that wasn’t the case and we had to try for about 8 months. I had happy things happening in my life but what I wanted to blog about wasn’t exactly public knowledge. But now I’m feeling pretty good and excited and things are going well for me so I can’t complain :-)

So I had my doc appt today and got to hear the babies heartbeat through the doppler! I’m hoping to attach it to this post so you can hear it! The baby is healthy and in a few weeks we’ll be able to determine the sex! I can’t wait!!! I have no idea what it will be, so it’s been hard to make any gifts for the baby or even think of names. If you listen to the heartbeat you’ll hear the doc trying to find the heartbeat, but you can tell when it’s the babies – it’s louder and more consistent and it’s the last half of the sound recording.

Baby’s Heart Beat

Things otherwise are going pretty well for me – work is busy busy busy but I like that and I’ve been doing some presentations for Baby Sign Language (I’m sooo excited that I can finally implement that into MY child’s life). I’ve been doing things with family and friends almost every weekend! And this weekend I get to look forward to seeing Alyson, Landon and Pat!

Okay, that’s it for tonight! Night all!

It's been a while

Posted in Life | 2 Comments »

So I know…it’s been a while…I’m sorry – it’s not you, it’s me. Really. Of course I still love you!

Sigh – I have been sooo busy that I haven’t had a chance to breath, let alone update – but I’m taking a few valuable minutes to do that, just for you.

So first things first: If you want to keep up with me, informally of course, follow me on Twitter: http://twitter.com/librarianAnna
I update that thing all the time, or anytime I go to the bathroom.
Which then updates my Facebook page – so find me there too…and on facebook I take random pictures and put them on there immediately (via phone – I love it!)

Now for the life – recent hurrah’s:
-I got onto CSC!!! Wooohooooo! It’s a two year commitment and I’m looking forward to it!
-Matthew celebrated his birthday and let me tell you – he was SHOCKED by his gift. He had NO idea that I did this, nor did he pick up on any of the lies. I made Matthew a Boudoir Album! I went through Varland Photography to do this and it was AWESOME! As soon as the pictures are online I’ll put a link here. But he really had NO CLUE that I did this and I thought for sure that he had an inkling..nope, nothing, nada. He was just so stunned he couldn’t talk. And he really like the pictures :-) I am awesome :-) .
-I got to see my sistah!

and now I have to go…I’ll try and update soon.
